Probes for RF measurement
Probe 700 - RF voltage probe
Low-capacitance and low-inductance voltage measurement at IC

- Probe 700
Design:
The probe consists of the P700 body and a TS7__ probe head that are delivered as a unit. Probe heads with different internal resistance and different gain are available. The body has a GND contact surface which adheres magnetically to the GND_ _-_ _ GND plane.
Use:
HF voltage measurement on ICs. The voltmeter is ideal for measurements in non-matched systems (source impedances unequal 50 R, IC pin).
Characteristics:
The output of the P700 probe (50 R out) is isolated from the measurement divider by a 30 dB amplifier. A low probe head capacity (TS 701 overcoupling capacity: 0.3 pF) reduces the susceptibility to transient behavior on low-impedance sources.
The probe head‘s measuring contact is connected to the inner probe head resistor via an extremely short path (L<<1nH).
Special characteristic of the TS 705 probe head):
The input resistance is 50 R. The length of the connection to the probe head‘s inner resistor is approx. 4 mm. The measuring cable (50 R out) is isolated from the measuring contact via an amplifier. No reflection occurs in the measuring cable with a mismatched DUT.
